At the Women in Service for America Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery dozens of military officials, veterans, active duty military personnel, friends and family gathered to honor of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion of World War II. The 6888th was the only African American female battalion to serve overseas during World War II.
