Department of Veterans Affairs
Veterans Health Administration
Office of the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary
for Health for Policy and Planning Announces its:

VAannouncement

The VHA’s Office of the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary for Health (ADUSH) for Policy and Planning is conducting the 2010 update of our national VHA telephone Survey of Enrollees. The purpose of the survey is to provide information that is incorporated into annual VHA projections of enrollment, utilization, and expenditures, as well as into a variety of high level VHA budget and policy related analyses.

The survey provides critical and essential information on Veteran utilization of health services, projecting the resources and services needed in VHA, and in developing our budget. The survey collects information on a random sample of 42,000 Veterans enrolled in the VA system, who participate in an approximately 15-30 minute telephone survey.

Each Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) will have approximately 2,000 enrollees surveyed. The survey will be fully initiated the week of May 24, 2010. Interviewing will continue for 12 weeks.

Veteran enrollees selected for the survey will receive a letter that provides information about the survey and the contractor conducting the survey on behalf of the VA.

Your support in this survey will help ensure that we provide the best care possible, where it is needed, when it is needed, and by whom it is needed.

Previous survey reports are available at:

Thank you for your assistance in this project.

This was just a notice to look for the survey- they went out by mail last year.

I have beeen trying for days to bring up the survey on line as referred to in the mailing I received containg the snail mail/telephone response info. The last line of the form says “if you prefer – you may take the online version of this survey at: http://www.moaa.org/2010survey“. No where in the site or its references does the survey appear. The query by the above person obviously had the same problem, and your answer merely initiated a circular tail chase. Check what you send out.

The blog post above is on MOAA’s Message Center Blog, and was posted back in 2010. It is a notice that the VA asked us to help disseminate to our own members, letting them know to expect a survey in the mail from the VA.

The survey I think you are both referring to is from MOAA- and is our annual letter survey, sent out every year to our members. We do not post the survey directly on the site because we only want members to take the survey geared to their age or demographic group, so when searching the site for the survey you probably came up with this year old blog post that we promoted to help the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The link you included in your comment, sir, does go to the MOAA 2010 Member survey if you click on it or type it into your browser bar. It should launch the Zoomerang survey for our members who are age 50 or older. This is for our members, and does come from MOAA.

If you want to have your members respond to the survey and offer the on line version you need to make the on line version available on line.
