To: Tammy Duckworth and husband Brian; All Americans should be very proud and feel very fortunate that we have special individuals like you serving voluntarily in our armed forces. I watched your interview on C-Span a few nites ago.
Thank you both for your courage and candor.

    Dear MOAA,
I wanted to write and thank you for the wonderful articles I just read in the Dec 08 issue. I actually cut out the “pups with a purpose” and “measuring success” articles to share with my Battalion. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the caliber of writing and expertise on each topic.

I am a great believer in pet-assisted therapy and appreciate that the program is giving inmates a source of pride; a new set of skills and possibly a new outlook on life in the process.

NEADS (Canines for Combat Veterans) located in MA has donated Service dogs to our vets. I think it would be fantastic if Ft Leavenworth could institute a training program for inmates and potential service dogs because, it is the cost associated in training canines that is the largest hurdle in providing service dogs to vets.

I find it interesting that that the “measuring Success” article directly follows the “pups with a purpose” article. We are finding that animal assisted therapy adds great value to the treatment of PTSD and depression when treating OIF/OEF Soldiers in the WTU.

Thank you and keep up the good work!

How you think when the economic crisis will end? I wish to make statistics of independent opinions!
