Thanks Doug, I forgot about "epic." I like the "bring it" comment. Good luck to your daughter! What school is she at? What school do you teach at? Great post, thanks.

Here's a few more that I overheard from a budding engineer:

"Eeeeeeeuw."

"Seriously epic."

"Wait-- what?!?"

"Dear final exam: Bring it. Love, Student."

Our daughter just finished her sophomore year in civil engineering. Luckily she's also in a NROTC unit, so she's able to speak Navy as well. When she returns from this summer's training cruise aboard a submarine, I'm sure she'll have an entirely new vocabulary...

MC, what a perfect postition it sounds like. You are a natural counselor and teacher (from a patient's perspective as well as a friend). I am sure University of Colorado has lucked out in having you join their staff. And the AF is lucky too, in the positive PR you offer. I hope you continue to find many more students with that rewarding light in their eye!

Aww... and to think, I've been wavering on my no pets bigger than a goldfish resolution lately...now you've reminded me what it was like! Our beloved pet, Henry the Beta Fish, has never yet ruined a Holy Week event. Give Marcus some extra love from us and Happy Easter to all the gang!

I'm impressed the vet only found one wrapper! Maybe removing the wrapper before he eats the bars is a talent worth taking on the road so he can reimburse you for the insurance premiums... Hope you all are well.
