Bissell is a well-known American company that dates back to the XIX century. Throughout the years the company has managed to establish itself as the leading producer of floor care products with 20% marketshare.
In the recent years Bissell also tries to increase its presence in air care sector with their Bissell Air series that offers air purifiers with 3-stage filtration system (pre-filter, Carbon and HEPA filter) and zero ozone emissions.
All Bissell air purifiers come with a 2-year warranty.
Bissell Air400 Air Purifier for Large Rooms
Bissell Air400 air purifier is a powerful air cleaner for 400 square feet spaces. It can deliver 4.8 air changes per hour in a 423 sq. ft. room, making it a great tool for relieving asthma or allergy symptoms.
With its 3-stage air filtration this air purifier captures dust, pollen, allergens, smoke and other pollutants down to 0.3 micron with 99.97% success rate. The unit also features an air quality monitor which provides the nessessary information on the indoor air quality.
The Bissell Air400 can be run in several modes:
- Manual: allows selection of 3 speeds: low, medium, high;
- Auto: the air purifier uses its sensor to adjust the speed;
- Silent: perfect mode to run the unit at night as it makes the operation extremely quiet;
- Night: dims the lights for better sleep;
- Max: in this mode the Air400 performs at its highest speed.
The air purifier also has a timer and filter indicator that will let you know when to replace the air filter. It usually happens after 6 months of usage, and the replacement costs are quite low at only $24 per 1 pack, roughly $50 per year.
The only major downside of the Bissell Air400 is its loud sound at the maximum speed. If you can’t stand high levels of noise you should look for another air cleaner, something like Rabbit Air.
Apart from that, the Bissell Air400 is definitely one of the best air purifiers for 400 sq. ft. spaces and large rooms.
Bissell Air320 Air Purifier for Medium Rooms
Bissell Air320 2768A air purifier uses the same air cleaning procedure as previously reviewed Air400. The major difference between both air purifiers is space coverage: the cheaper Air320 delivers 4.8 ACH in 366 sq. ft. making it viable to put in a medium room whereas the Air400 is capable of cleaning 423 sq. ft.
Other than that, there is not much difference. Replacement filters (2804) for the Bissell Air320 are also super cheap.
Bissell Air320 Max Air Purifier with WiFi
The only difference between the Bissell Air320 Max 2847A and the Bissell Air320 is WiFi feature, that allows to control the unit via app. The price has increased slightly, but if you can get the non-Wi-Fi model at a huge discount I do not recommend getting the Max version.
Bissell Air220 Air Purifier for Small Rooms
Again, in terms of air filtration, the Bissell Air220 2609A uses the standard 3-stage procedure with pre-filter, HEPA air filter and charcoal filter for odors. It makes a great option of you want to improve air quality in a small room.
This is the cheapest Bissell Air cleaner, at a discounted price you can grab it under $200. Is it worth the price? Definitely! Smart features make the air purifier very easy in use and its air cleaning capabilities can provide relief for asthmatics or allergic people. It also features decent CADR ratings for pollen, dust and smoke, filtering out such particles with ease in a space up to 300 square feet.
