Medify and Levoit are well-known manufacturers of air purifiers; they have a wide range of products in different price categories. However, I’m not going to cover all of them but focus only on their best air cleaners for medium, small and large rooms.

But before I start comparing head-to-head their best products, let me first mention what are major differences between Levoit air purifiers and Medify Air MA-series.

  • Medify offers a lifetime warranty on their air cleaners; Levoit has a limited warranty on 2 years;
  • Air filters utilized by Medify are bigger and are considered better overall;
  • However, the lifespan of the filters is shorter (3-4 months on average) compared to Levoit’s 6 months;
  • As a result, maintenance costs of Medify MA air purifiers are also higher as you have to buy the replacements more often;
  • The initial price of Medify products is higher, but most of the time they clean the air better. This mostly applies to virus and bacteria particles.

Now that you’re familiar with general differences, let’s see how the air purifiers differ at the individual level.

The most popular Medify Air MA-40 is an extremely good choice for rooms 300-500 sq. ft. in size. It comes at a reasonable price, and 4-stage air filtrations system includes pre-filter, HEPA filter, Activated Carbon filter and Ionizer (this can be turned off). Thanks to this several-stage air cleaning technology the MA-40 is able to clean air from various pollutants that include dust and dust mites, pollen, kitchen and other odors (including pet smells), bacteria and viruses. It’s also great for allergic people, as its capable of delivering 4.8 air changes per hour (ACH) in a 350 sq. ft. area. Why ACH matters and what are the general recommendations read here.

On contrary, the Levoit Core 400s covers even larger area, but due to smaller filter and less powerful fan, it’s not as good as the MA-40. It also doesn’t have an in-built ionizer. However, it consumes way less energy, makes less noise even at maximum speed (making it viable to run it at night), has slightly higher CADR and it is also cheaper. In addition, the Core 400s can be connected to WiFi and controlled with a VeSync app.

Overall, if you are more concerned with air pollution inside your house, get the Medify MA-40. Otherwise, the Levoit Core 400s is a better option due to various factors that include price, noise levels, power consumption and maintenance costs.

The Medify MA-25 is considered a cheaper and smaller version of the previously compared MA-40. It also lacks any ionizer and doesn’t not have auto function. So you’ have to come to the air purifier and change speeds (there are 3 of them: low, medium, high) manually.

On contrary, the Levoit Core 300s despite the change in price, still has its core features, such as Auto mode, Sleep mode and app support. As it was the case in the previous comparison, the Levoit model is also cheaper, quieter and weights less, so moving it from one place to another is like a walking the park.

If I were to pick one of the air purifiers, I’d go with the Levoit. It’s not a surprise, that Core 300s is the most popular Levoit air cleaner for bedrooms, bathrooms and small rooms up to 210 square feet in size. It offers a great air cleaning for a very reasonable price; sometimes it goes down to $120 – 110 and it’s a great time to get the Core 300s for yourself.

Full Specs & Review

The Medify Air MA-112 is a juggernaut in world of air purifiers, and not only compared to the Levoit air purifiers. At the maximum speed it reaches 667 CFM, so you can get of allergies in a 1000 sq. ft. room. Not many air purifiers can boast such airflow, and even few of them can do that for a little under $600. If you don’t have any breathing conditions or air quality isn’t that bad, this machine can be used in a space of up to 20002500 square feet.

In addition to the very powerful fan, the MA-40 features an ionizer to help remove harmful particles and freshen the air. The unit also has a pollution indicator that displays the number of particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) and a child/pet lock, in case you want to keep your setting without them accidentally being changed.

In the Levoit Core 600s turn, it cannot be compared in terms of power to the Medify. The unit is smaller and three times lighter in terms of its weight. It is reflected in price, as the Core 300s costs two times less then its competitor. And as usual, the app is also there.

However, it doesn’t mean that you always should go for the Medify MA-112. If your room size is around 600 square feet, then the Core 3 will do the job of removing smoke, dust or bacteria particles from the air. However, in a heavily smoked rooms you’ll have to run it at the maximum speed for quite some time to see a difference.

In conclusion, the Medify Air MA-40 is just better than the Core 600s for allergies and heavily polluted areas. The Levoit Core 600s is recommended is less polluted areas and for 600 – 700 sq. ft. rooms.
