In this blog post, we will answer the question of whether or not an ozone air purifier can help cats with cancer. We’ll also talk about how air purifiers in general can help cats and what other benefits they have for pet owners.
In terms of the ozone air purifier and how it may be helpful to cats with cancer, research on this topic is scarce. With that being said, there are some things we can suggest for pets that have been diagnosed with cancer. According to veterinarian Dr. Julie Bonney DVM MPH MBA DACVPM: “The key to a happy cat living in an environment where they’ve been diagnosed with cancer is diet.”
Cats who live long-term without treatment will typically eat more because their sense of smell diminishes as their tumor grows; therefore if your pet has had a recent diagnosis you’ll want them eating lots of wet food – preferably moist canned or raw foods containing high levels of protein (preferably meats). If they’re not a fan of these textures, try adding a small amount to their regular dry food.
What are the symptoms? Unwanted licking or chewing behavior; loss of appetite (or an increased appetite); vomiting and/or diarrhea; weight loss; depression; fatigue
How do we diagnose cancer in cats? Often times your vet will have already discovered it by performing blood work as part of routine annual check-ups but they may also recommend other diagnostic tests such as X-rays, biopsies, CT scans or ultrasounds. If you’re still not sure consult with your veterinarian for more information on what procedure might be best for your cat’s case.
How Ozone Air Purifier Can Help Cats With Cancer?
Ozone is a colorless, odorless gas that can be produced by air purifiers in the form of ozone molecules. When it’s turned into an aerosol mist and activated with a high voltage electric charge, these ozone molecules become ozonides which are then released back into the room to help remove harmful particles from your air space without using any chemicals.
Keep in mind though, ozone-generating air purifiers can be harmful for your health and animals with respiratory problems, so be sure to consult a veterinarian before using one in your home.
What are the benefits of an air purifier? Air purifiers can help keep pets healthy by removing from the air household allergens such as pet dander, dust mites or pollen that would otherwise cause them irritation.
They also remove smoke particles which get into our homes every time we open our doors letting out unwanted toxins like mold spores and chemicals in cigarette smoke. Pets can suffer many adverse effects when they’re exposed to these pollutants including allergies, asthma attacks, cancerous tumors – even more serious diseases if their immune system is already compromised (which could be due to illness).
